How Much Money Will I Need to Show in My Proof of Funds for a Successful Canadian Student Visa Application? When applying for a Canadian Study Visa, you’ll need to provide a financial document called Proof of Funds. Your Proof of Funds should contain the balance of your tuition fees and the cost of living. It shows your ability to fund your studies and cover your living expenses throughout your study program.  The Minimum amount needed to show for your cost of living is 20,636 CAD. If you are travelling with your family, their cost of living will also need to be included. The Acceptable documentation for your proof of funds are; bank statements, investment certificates, and evidence of financial support from sponsors.
