Latest UK Visa Update – New  UK Visa Centres now available in Nigeria

If you’ve tried applying for a UK visa in Nigeria recently, you probably know it hasn’t been the smoothest ride — especially if you’re not in Lagos or Abuja.

Let’s rewind a bit.

On Tuesday, November 19, 2024, UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) made a big move — they officially switched visa service providers from TLScontact to VFS Global. That meant the familiar TLS platform many Nigerians were used to was replaced by VFS as the new appointment booking portal for all UK visa applications in Nigeria.

Now here’s the twist…

After the switch, only two locations — Lagos and Abuja — were available on the VFS portal. Yep, just those two. That meant many students and applicants from the South-East and South-South had to travel long distances just to submit their biometrics, this came as a serious inconvenience.

We heard the complaints. We saw the stress. And we felt the frustration.

But not anymore!

In a major update that dropped in April 2025, UKVI (through VFS) has now officially added 2 new uk visa centres in Nigeria located in Enugu and Port Harcourt — and this time, they’re operating as premium locations!

New Premium UK Visa Centres Open in Nigeria – Enugu and Port Harcourt!

As of April 21, 2025, VFS has officially added two new premium UK visa centres to their list:

✅ Enugu – Omedel Luxury Hotel

📍 Ground floor, Omedel Luxury Hotel, Link Road, Enugu
🕗 Open from 8AM – 5PM daily
💷 Premium fee: £150

✅ Port Harcourt – Hotel Presidential

📍 Hall 1, First Floor, Hotel Presidential, Port Harcourt
🕗 Open from 8AM – 5PM daily
💷 Premium fee: £150

What Does This Mean ?

This is a major win for:

  • Anyone living in the South-East or South-South who just wants an easier, faster UK visa experience

Instead of travelling 8-10 hours to Lagos or Abuja, you can now book an appointment at a centre closer to home — with far less stress.

Quick Note: What Does “Premium” Mean?

The Enugu and Port Harcourt centres are premium, meaning they come with extra comfort, convenience, and faster processing — but also with an added cost of £150.

If convenience is a priority, this is absolutely worth it.

Conclusion

For students gearing up for September 2025 intake or even thinking ahead to January, this update couldn’t have come at a better time.

You once again now have four UK Visa Centres to choose from in Nigeria — Lagos, Abuja, Enugu, and Port Harcourt. No more booking flights just to book a visa appointment.
