Biometric Residence Permit for UK International Students.

BIOMETRIC RESIDENCE PERMIT FOR UK INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS.  Ever wondered what a Biometric residence permit (BRP) is and why it is important to international students and prospective study abroad students at large?  Then you should be aware that a biometric residence permit (BRP) is an identity card showing that you have the right to study or work in the UK. With a BRP, you are qualified for public services and every benefit that International students in the UK are entitled to. The following are expected to collect their biometric residence permit (BRP) after 10 days of arriving in the UK.  International students with a short-stay visa, who plan to extend their visa for longer than 6 months. International students who need to transfer their visa into a new passport. Graduates who find employment and apply to get a Tier 2 work visa. Prospective study abroad students that apply for a Tier 4 (general) visa after getting admission to study a bachelor, masters or PhD degree in a university in the UK. Without a biometric residence permit (BRP), you are at risk of being sent back to your country or being refused re-entry into the UK.    BENEFITS OF THE A BRP CARD.  A BRP card helps to prove your identity safely and quickly where and whenever this is required. With the BRP card, you can provide proof of your right to live in the UK. Quickly enable employers to identify a non-EEA national’s identity, employment status and right to work in the UK.  BRP cards are easier to carry around and avoid having to produce other less convenient documents such as passports.   BIOMETRIC RESIDENCE PERMIT AND CORONA VIRUS  People tend to have challenges getting their biometric residence permit (BRP) within the stipulated period of 10 days especially since they are required to pick it up at the post office or the university.  However, due to the Corona Virus  (Covid 19) pandemic and the requirement to self-isolate, this 10-day deadline has been relaxed and made flexible. International students can pick up their BRP card anytime after the completion of their required self-Isolation. Also, universities have stopped receiving BRP cards for students due to the pandemic and the lockdown requirements but depending on the university where you are granted admission, your BRP can be sent directly to your home address. This can be done once you have presented evidence of your entry to the UK to the Immigration and Compliance Team and you used the university’s BRP ACL code in your visa application.    Meet our counsellors at Negxy Concept Limited to get the opportunity to study in reputable universities in the UK and get more information on Uk visa processing.    Negxy Concept Limited is a study abroad agency in Lagos with over 5000 successful admissions and visas under her belt. Impact of Corona virus on Study Abroad for Foreign Students; The United Kingdom.

IMPACT OF CORONAVIRUS ON STUDY ABROAD FOR FOREIGN STUDENTS; THE UNITED KINGDOM.   Before we look into the impact of Coronavirus on study abroad for foreign students in the UK, let us have a better understanding of this deadly disease known as Coronavirus (COVID-19 ) and its existence in the U.K.   Coronavirus disease (COVID-19 ) is an infectious disease caused by a newly discovered coronavirus. If you are within proximity of someone who has COVID-19, you could be affected, as this disease is transmitted through droplets produced when an infected person coughs, sneezes, or exhales. Some of the COVID-19 symptoms are Fever, dry cough, sore throat, loss of taste and smell. The World Health Organization (WHO) an agency of the United Nations in charge of international public health has confirmed that there has been a total of 99. 363. 697 cases, 2.135. 959 deaths and 224 countries, areas or territories with COVID-19 cases.   CORONAVIRUS IN THE UNITED KINGDOM The United Kingdom has been hit particularly hard by the pandemic. The country is currently in its third national lockdown and is battling a high rate of infections, hospitalizations and deaths, caused by a more transmittable variant of the virus. On a positive note, the U.K. is one of the world leaders for the coronavirus vaccination campaign.   IMPACT OF CORONAVIRUS ON STUDYING  IN THE UNITED KINGDOM In the United Kingdom, the coronavirus pandemic has affected education in many ways. To limit the spread of this deadly virus, many universities across the United Kingdom have limited or completely suspended face-to-face teaching and moved to remote learning while others have adopted the hybrid form of learning, which requires spaced-out face-to-face tutoring and digital lectures while observing the COVID-19  protocols. Due to the hybrid learning, measures have been implemented by universities to curb the spread of the deadly virus, these include marking the entry and exit points of buildings; providing hand sanitiser stations, marking of floors and social distances measures.   U.K universities are currently processing applications normally because the U.K is expected to be one of the first countries in the world to be fully vaccinated, likely by September 2021, therefore, the next main student intake is scheduled for September 2021 and students will have access to the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine as it will be administered across the country. However, the coronavirus (COVID-19) has affected students from easily travelling in and out of the United Kingdom as the U.K government has advised foreigners travelling into the country to provide evidence of a negative COVID-19 test result taken up to 3 days before departure and if you do not comply, your airline or carrier may refuse you boarding and you may be fined on arrival. Also, you must self-isolate when you enter the U.K from any foreign country, these rules must be obeyed until the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine is issued. “As 2021 begins with a national lockdown due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the higher education sector has set out a range of measures that ensure student welfare remains the priority” Click on the link below to view these measures and how to cope as an international student studying in the United Kingdom. https://www.prospects.ac.uk/applying-for-university/university-life/how-universities-are-changing-in-the-wake-of-covid-19 Negxy Concept Limited is a study abroad agency in Ikeja, Lagos with over 5000 successful admissions and visas under her belt.
