New Rules by the UK Government towards Covid19 Vaccination Administered in Nigeria

NEW RULES BY THE UK GOVERNMENT TOWARDS COVID19 VACCINATION ADMINISTERED IN NIGERIA   Covid19 Update for International students such as the new rules by the UK government towards the covid19 vaccine administered in African in countries like Nigeria have left so many prospective study-abroad students, tourists and businessmen with the intentions of travelling to the UK excited. After the spread of the deadly coronavirus disease in December 2019, Covid vaccination was established to protect people against this deadly disease. Different types of covid vaccines were produced and distributed to different countries around the world. The different types of Covid Vaccines are: Oxford/AstraZeneca Pfizer BioNTech Moderna Janssen On the 17th of September, the United Kingdom made a travel rule regarding the Covid19 vaccination. This rule stated that individuals who were administered vaccines in countries, like India, Turkey, Jordan, Thailand, Russia, and continents like Africa and South America are considered “unvaccinated” Therefore must follow the unvaccinated rules that were put in place by the UK government before they can successfully settle in the UK. International students in Nigeria travelling to the UK were affected as they had to follow the unvaccinated rules before they could successfully travel for their studies in the UK. These rules are as follows They must provide their vaccination status on arrival in the UK A 72hours Covid 19 test should be done before entering the UK Self Isolation of 10 days after entering the UK Covid test must be taken on or before day 2 after entering the UK Further testing will be taken on day 8 after entering the UK   THE UK APPROVES OF COVID19 VACCINES ADMINISTERED IN NIGERIA On Monday, the 11th of October, 2021 the UK government released a new travel rule with respect to the Covid19 vaccination. This new rule states that the vaccination administered in most African countries has been approved by the UK government. Fortunately, Nigeria is among these countries, meaning that vaccination administered in Nigeria has been approved by the UK government. Therefore, International students in Nigeria travelling to the UK on or after the 11th of October, 2021  do not have to follow the unvaccinated rules but rather the vaccinated rules. The Vaccinated rules are as follows: Covid Vaccination status must be provided e.g  A Covid19 vaccine certificate. A 72hours Covid 19 test before entering the UK is not required Getting a day 2 Covid 19 test is required. 10 days self Isolation after entering the UK is not needed Getting a day 8 Covid 19 test is not required. Therefore international students who are fully vaccinated and have plans to study in a University in the UK can follow the vaccinated rule by simply providing proof of their vaccination status, whereas unvaccinated international students must follow the unvaccinated rule. For a swift travel process to the UK for studies, international students are advised to get vaccinated. Covid-19 Vaccine for International Students in the UK

COVID-19 VACCINE FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS IN THE UK.    Before we look into the Covid-19 vaccine for international students in the United Kingdom, let us have a better understanding of the covid vaccination and its existence in the UK.   WHAT IS A VACCINE  A Vaccine is a medication that is responsible for coaching the body’s immune system to fight diseases that the human body comes in contact with. Vaccines are designed to prevent disease, rather than treat disease once you have caught it. Some example of a vaccine is:  The flu vaccine The HVP ( human papillomavirus) vaccine   After the coronavirus disease emerged in the year 2019, a vaccine was founded in the year 2021, the covid vaccination ( Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine).    CORONAVIRUS VACCINATION    The covid vaccination ( Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine)  gives you the utmost protection against the deadly coronavirus disease. Based on evidence from clinical trials, the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine was 95% effective at preventing laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 illness.  Here is general information on the covid vaccination.    Name: BNT162b2 Manufacturer: Pfizer, Inc., and BioNTech Type of vaccine: mRNA Number of shots: 2 shots, 21 days apart Method of delivery: Shot in the muscle of the upper arm Click on the link below to get vital information on the Covid Vaccination from the specialized agency of the United Nations, WHO.     https://www.who.int/news-room/q-a-detail/coronavirus-disease-(covid-19)-vaccines?adgroupsurvey={adgroupsurvey}&gclid=Cj0KCQiAhP2BBhDdARIsAJEzXlFg_MaK8KG0CxIi8xxZ4ricMTWKvnPalSQeygIM19x8Uk98C1V3LrwaAlR8EALw_wcB   COVID-19 VACCINE IN THE UK   In the UK, 350+ million doses of the vaccine were ordered, which is enough to vaccinate the entire population. The NHS (National health system) is currently offering the Covid 19 vaccine to people that are most at risk from the deadly coronavirus disease.  The vaccinations are being distributed to some hospitals and pharmacies to administer to people under the following group:   People at the age of 60 and above.  People who have high risks of getting infected by the disease. (The clinically extremely vulnerable) People that have moderate risks of getting infected by the disease. (The clinically vulnerable) People that live or work in care homes People that get a carer’s allowance Health and social care workers   COVID-19 VACCINE FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS; UK   Although the  Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine is currently available, it is yet to be administered to international students in the UK. Sources claim that International students will have access to the vaccine and no charges will be applied to testing or the treatment of COVID-19. However, International students that are diagnosed with medical conditions and are between the ages of 16 and above are to be administered the vaccine from the first week of March 2021 until the end of March 2021.  The older international students are next in line to be administered the vaccine, this would be done before the end of April 2021.    The UK is dedicated to supporting international students in such unusual times and the Universities Minister, Michelle Donelan, offered her gratitude to students for being patient with the provisions offered to combat COVID-19.  The Secretary of Health and Social Care, Matt Hancock stated that “the vaccine along with effective treatment processes will help in managing COVID-19, thus further helping reach normalcy in the future, hopefully”.   The United Kingdom is likely to be the first country to be fully vaccinated before the late spring/early summer of the year 2021, since 350+ million vaccine doses were ordered for a population of 65 million, meaning supply will be sufficient. If this happens, September 2021 entry will be safe for all International students without any hassle.    Negxy Concept Limited is a study abroad agency in Lagos with over 5000 successful admissions and visas under her belt.
