The UK Graduate Immigration Route for International Students

THE UK GRADUATE IMMIGRATION ROUTE FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS   The UK Government demonstrated its support and commitment towards the education sector for international students when it agreed to retain the brightest and the best international student to contribute to society through the new graduate immigration route. This sets out an ambition to increase the number of international higher education students in the UK by 600,000 in the year 2030.   The new graduate immigration route which will be effective from the 1st of July, 2021 is to enable students who have completed their degree to live and work in the UK for as long as 3years. International students or prospective international students who have plans to study for a bachelor or a master’s degree program are eligible to stay back after graduation for 2 years, while PhD graduates are eligible to stay back for 3years.   During this period, a graduate can work in any sector and at any level without any minimum salary requirements or the need for visa sponsorship.   At the end of the post-study graduate immigration route, students are to leave the UK or apply for a different visa such as a Tier 2 General work Visa. This visa requires students to have an employment offer before application, with minimum skills and salary level. To attain the tier 2 visa, students are being advised to find good employment during their 2 or 3 years’ stay back after graduation.   CONDITIONS AND REQUIREMENTS  FOR THE GRADUATE IMMIGRATION ROUTE VISA.   The Graduate Route will be available to students who graduate with a valid visa (Tier 4 or Student Route) on or after 1 July 2021. Students will be required to apply for the graduate immigration route visa inside the UK. Students should be aware of how long their visa lasts by checking their CAS (confirmation of acceptance for studies) for the application process. Students will be required to pay a visa fee of £700 and an immigration health surcharge at a full rate of £624 per year   THE UK GRADUATE IMMIGRATION ROUTE FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS STUDYING REMOTELY.   The government recognizes the students who are studying remotely due to the pandemic and has put in place the following conditions for such students to follow, to enable them eligible for the graduate immigration route.   Students taking a 12 months course or less that started in the year 2020 and have not travelled to the UK to study that course are expected to arrive in the UK by 21st of June, 2021. Stay at home students taking 12 months course or less which started in the year 2021 and have not travelled to the UK to study that course are expected to arrive in the UK by the 27th of September, 2021. Students taking 12 months course or less which started in 2020 or 2021 and have already travelled to the Uk during their current Tier 4/ students visa but are currently studying remotely, will need to return to the UK by the end date of their course. students taking a course longer than 12 months are expected to return to the UK in time to apply for the new graduate route by the expiry of their current Tier 4/Student visa.   Negxy Concept Limited is a study abroad agency in Lagos with over 5000 successful admissions and visas under her belt. Covid-19 Vaccine for International Students in the UK

COVID-19 VACCINE FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS IN THE UK.    Before we look into the Covid-19 vaccine for international students in the United Kingdom, let us have a better understanding of the covid vaccination and its existence in the UK.   WHAT IS A VACCINE  A Vaccine is a medication that is responsible for coaching the body’s immune system to fight diseases that the human body comes in contact with. Vaccines are designed to prevent disease, rather than treat disease once you have caught it. Some example of a vaccine is:  The flu vaccine The HVP ( human papillomavirus) vaccine   After the coronavirus disease emerged in the year 2019, a vaccine was founded in the year 2021, the covid vaccination ( Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine).    CORONAVIRUS VACCINATION    The covid vaccination ( Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine)  gives you the utmost protection against the deadly coronavirus disease. Based on evidence from clinical trials, the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine was 95% effective at preventing laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 illness.  Here is general information on the covid vaccination.    Name: BNT162b2 Manufacturer: Pfizer, Inc., and BioNTech Type of vaccine: mRNA Number of shots: 2 shots, 21 days apart Method of delivery: Shot in the muscle of the upper arm Click on the link below to get vital information on the Covid Vaccination from the specialized agency of the United Nations, WHO.     https://www.who.int/news-room/q-a-detail/coronavirus-disease-(covid-19)-vaccines?adgroupsurvey={adgroupsurvey}&gclid=Cj0KCQiAhP2BBhDdARIsAJEzXlFg_MaK8KG0CxIi8xxZ4ricMTWKvnPalSQeygIM19x8Uk98C1V3LrwaAlR8EALw_wcB   COVID-19 VACCINE IN THE UK   In the UK, 350+ million doses of the vaccine were ordered, which is enough to vaccinate the entire population. The NHS (National health system) is currently offering the Covid 19 vaccine to people that are most at risk from the deadly coronavirus disease.  The vaccinations are being distributed to some hospitals and pharmacies to administer to people under the following group:   People at the age of 60 and above.  People who have high risks of getting infected by the disease. (The clinically extremely vulnerable) People that have moderate risks of getting infected by the disease. (The clinically vulnerable) People that live or work in care homes People that get a carer’s allowance Health and social care workers   COVID-19 VACCINE FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS; UK   Although the  Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine is currently available, it is yet to be administered to international students in the UK. Sources claim that International students will have access to the vaccine and no charges will be applied to testing or the treatment of COVID-19. However, International students that are diagnosed with medical conditions and are between the ages of 16 and above are to be administered the vaccine from the first week of March 2021 until the end of March 2021.  The older international students are next in line to be administered the vaccine, this would be done before the end of April 2021.    The UK is dedicated to supporting international students in such unusual times and the Universities Minister, Michelle Donelan, offered her gratitude to students for being patient with the provisions offered to combat COVID-19.  The Secretary of Health and Social Care, Matt Hancock stated that “the vaccine along with effective treatment processes will help in managing COVID-19, thus further helping reach normalcy in the future, hopefully”.   The United Kingdom is likely to be the first country to be fully vaccinated before the late spring/early summer of the year 2021, since 350+ million vaccine doses were ordered for a population of 65 million, meaning supply will be sufficient. If this happens, September 2021 entry will be safe for all International students without any hassle.    Negxy Concept Limited is a study abroad agency in Lagos with over 5000 successful admissions and visas under her belt. IMPACT OF CORONA VIRUS ON STUDY ABROAD FOR FOREIGN STUDENTS; THE UNITED KINGDOM.

Impact of Corona virus on Study Abroad for Foreign Students; The United Kingdom.

IMPACT OF CORONAVIRUS ON STUDY ABROAD FOR FOREIGN STUDENTS; THE UNITED KINGDOM.   Before we look into the impact of Coronavirus on study abroad for foreign students in the UK, let us have a better understanding of this deadly disease known as Coronavirus (COVID-19 ) and its existence in the U.K.   Coronavirus disease (COVID-19 ) is an infectious disease caused by a newly discovered coronavirus. If you are within proximity of someone who has COVID-19, you could be affected, as this disease is transmitted through droplets produced when an infected person coughs, sneezes, or exhales. Some of the COVID-19 symptoms are Fever, dry cough, sore throat, loss of taste and smell. The World Health Organization (WHO) an agency of the United Nations in charge of international public health has confirmed that there has been a total of 99. 363. 697 cases, 2.135. 959 deaths and 224 countries, areas or territories with COVID-19 cases.   CORONAVIRUS IN THE UNITED KINGDOM The United Kingdom has been hit particularly hard by the pandemic. The country is currently in its third national lockdown and is battling a high rate of infections, hospitalizations and deaths, caused by a more transmittable variant of the virus. On a positive note, the U.K. is one of the world leaders for the coronavirus vaccination campaign.   IMPACT OF CORONAVIRUS ON STUDYING  IN THE UNITED KINGDOM In the United Kingdom, the coronavirus pandemic has affected education in many ways. To limit the spread of this deadly virus, many universities across the United Kingdom have limited or completely suspended face-to-face teaching and moved to remote learning while others have adopted the hybrid form of learning, which requires spaced-out face-to-face tutoring and digital lectures while observing the COVID-19  protocols. Due to the hybrid learning, measures have been implemented by universities to curb the spread of the deadly virus, these include marking the entry and exit points of buildings; providing hand sanitiser stations, marking of floors and social distances measures.   U.K universities are currently processing applications normally because the U.K is expected to be one of the first countries in the world to be fully vaccinated, likely by September 2021, therefore, the next main student intake is scheduled for September 2021 and students will have access to the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine as it will be administered across the country. However, the coronavirus (COVID-19) has affected students from easily travelling in and out of the United Kingdom as the U.K government has advised foreigners travelling into the country to provide evidence of a negative COVID-19 test result taken up to 3 days before departure and if you do not comply, your airline or carrier may refuse you boarding and you may be fined on arrival. Also, you must self-isolate when you enter the U.K from any foreign country, these rules must be obeyed until the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine is issued. “As 2021 begins with a national lockdown due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the higher education sector has set out a range of measures that ensure student welfare remains the priority” Click on the link below to view these measures and how to cope as an international student studying in the United Kingdom. https://www.prospects.ac.uk/applying-for-university/university-life/how-universities-are-changing-in-the-wake-of-covid-19 Negxy Concept Limited is a study abroad agency in Ikeja, Lagos with over 5000 successful admissions and visas under her belt.
