More Opportunities for Third-Class and HND Holders in the UK

MORE OPPORTUNITIES FOR THIRD-CLASS AND HND HOLDERS IN THE UK There is no education that is ever a waste, no matter the grade, educational institution or country attended, there will always be an advantage for every knowledge gained. One of these advantages is the study opportunities that third-class and HND holders in the UK have.  Who said Third-class and HND holders can not study in the UK? Yes, they can, they have the opportunity to study a Top-up programme, a Premasters and Master’s degree programme and even a direct masters programme. They also have the chance of getting permanent residency in the UK.  Students with a third-class or HND however, should be aware that they are certain requirements and conditions needed before they can study in the UK and this varies by universities in the UK.    TOP-UP PROGRAMME  This programme is a one year programme that is strictly for HND holders, third class degree students are not open to this option. With a Top-up, a student can get a BSC certification that will enable them successfully apply to study for a master’s degree in the UK. Do have in mind that the types of courses opened to this programme are mostly IT, Business and Engineering courses. Doing a top-up programme in the UK will enable a student to stay back in the UK for as long as 4 years, this is so as the top-up is 1 year, the master’s program is 1 year and students are given a 2 years post-study permit.  Before the 2 years post-study permit ends, a student can find good employment that will enable them to stay back and work in the UK. After they have stayed in the UK for as long as 5 years, may then can apply for permanent residence.     PREMASTERS AND MASTERS DEGREE Students with an HND and Thirdclass can go for a Premasters and a Masters degree programme in the UK. The duration of a pre-masters program is determined by admission officers in UK universities, based on the Cumulative Grade Point Average of the student. The course duration can be as low as 3 – 4 months and as high as 1 year. A student can study any course of choice during a pre-masters study, however, this depends on the courses available in the University. After a pre-masters programme, they can apply for a one-year master’s program.  Students going for a pre-masters and master’s degree has the chance to stay in the UK for as long as 2 years, and are entitled to a 2 years post-study work permit. This gives HND and third-class degree students the opportunity to stay in the UK for a long period of time.    DIRECT MASTERS  Students with an HND and Third-class degree can go for a direct master’s in the UK, however, the programme that they are entitled to is an accelerated (extended) master’s. This is a 15 months master’s program and not all universities in the UK have the option of a direct master’s for third-class and HND holders.  Courses opened to  HND and third-class degree holders in some UK Universities are business management courses however, there are just a very few universities that permit HND and third-class degree holders to study health, IT and Engineering courses.  Most universities in the UK expect students with HND and Third-class to have good working experience before they can go for this program in the UK. Without working experience, most universities will not accept students for this program.  Students going for a direct master’s has the opportunity to study in the UK longer than 12 months and if they are able to find good employment after their studies in the UK, they have the chance of getting permanent residence.    SCHOOLS IN THE UK THAT ACCEPTS THIRD-CLASS AND HND HOLDERS  There is a good number of universities in the UK that accepts students with HND and Third-class degree for Top-up, Premasters and direct masters. Here are some of these universities  University of South Wales Coventry University Edinburgh Napier University Robert Gordon University Sheffield Hallam University University of Sunderland University of Wolverhampton  University of Huddersfield  University of Chester  University of Hertfordshire University of Westminster   At Negxy Concept Limited, we are here to guide you and ensure your admission process is successful and smooth, therefore, for more questions please reach out to our counsellor.    Negxy Concept Limited is a study abroad agency in Lagos with over 5000 successful admissions and visas under her belt. Breakdown of Funds Needed to Study in the UK

BREAK-DOWN OF FUNDS NEEDED TO STUDY IN THE UK     Before making plans for your studies, you are advised to enquire about the funds needed, to ensure that you are capable of studying and living in the UK. However, know that Negxy Concept Limited got you 101% of the time, this is why we will be writing the breakdown of funds needed to study in the UK just for you! To successfully study in the UK, you need to be able to bear the cost (the funds) that is needed for both your admission process and also your visa process. Let us give an example on the breakdown of funds needed to study in the UK with a student going to study Management and International Business at Birmingham City University.    FUNDS NEEDED FOR YOUR ADMISSION PROCESS TO THE UK  Students who have received an unconditional offer to study Management and International Business at Birmingham City University for September 2022 intake should already be aware of the tuition fee and cost of living in the UK.  The tuition fee for International students studying this course is £16, 300 per year for 2022 September and January 2023 intakes, and the cost of living in Birmingham City (Outside London ) is £9, 207.  After an unconditional offer is received, students are expected to pay up their tuition deposit. The tuition deposit for Birmingham City University is £3000. Once this payment is made, the students can deduct this amount from the Tuition fee, in order to know how much is left to pay.  £16, 300 – £3000 = £13, 300 This means that the student is left to pay £13, 300. Birmingham City University requires student’s bank statements (proof of funds) to be shown before a Pre-Cas interview can be done or a CAS can be received.  I am sure you wonder, how do you calculate your bank statement?  It is your Tuition balance + Cost of living  Which is £13, 3000 + £9, 207  =  £22, 507 When doing your conversion to Nigerian currency we always advise students to add an extra 50 – 70 Naira, due to currency fluctuations  For example, using bank rates, £1 = 557 Naira, however, we always advise students to make use of 620 Naira.  Therefore, for conversion, multiply the sum total of your tuition balance and cost of living by 620 Naira.  22,507 X 620 = 13,954,340 The student must show a bank statement with the sum total of 13,954,340 Naira and these funds must be in their account for 28 and the latest  29 days.    FUNDS NEEDED FOR YOUR UK STUDENT VISA  After CAS has been received, the students are expected to prepare for the UK Student visa, they should be aware of the funds needed for this process.  For the UK Student Visa, students are expected to do a Tuberculosis test, pay for a Visa fee and an IHS fee.  Tuberculosis Test is 57, 800 naira Visa Fee is $500  IHS Fee is $1003 for 12 months course.  In essence, the funds needed for students going for Management and International Business at Birmingham City University should be over 15, 000, 000 Naira.    However, it is important to reach out to our counsellors on the breakdown of funds needed to study in the Uk, as these prices and fees are often updated. Stay updated on the funds needed to study in the UK at all times.    Negxy Concept Limited is a study abroad agency in Lagos with over 5000 successful admissions and visas under her belt. A picture thar reads, why an up-to-date CV is needed for your admission

Why an up-to-date CV is needed for your admission

WHY AN UP-TO-DATE CV IS NEEDED  FOR YOUR ADMISSION     A CV is one of the requirements needed for your admission process and it must be an up-to-date CV. This means that as a prospective student, you must provide a CV containing updated information about yourself.  I bet you wonder why an up-to-date CV is needed for your admission right? Well, let us take a look at this scenario.    SCENARIO Ade has decided to study abroad and made up his mind that he want to study in the UK at Coventry University for May intake.  He comes to us to help him with his admission process, we let him know that he is putting in his application at the dying minute and advice him to send in his documents as soon as possible. We give him the list of admission requirements needed to study at Coventry University. These requirements are an International passport, Official transcript, Degree Certificate, WAEC/NECO, Personal Statement, updated CV and a Reference letter.  He provides all these documents but due to the lack of time, he was unable to update his CV with recent information about himself, like, filling in the years of gap in his CV (Which is, updating his work history) and ensuring that the contact information provided is accurate. His application is done using the contact information on his CV and his documents are submitted.  The admission officers the University receive his documents, they see his Passport as proof of his nationality, his transcript and degree certificate as proof of his educational background, his WAEC as proof of his English proficiency, his personal statement as proof of his intentions to study at Coventry University, his reference as proof of his character and past performance then they go through his CV and they are unimpressed.  Ade graduated from the university in the year 2012 and on his CV it states that he worked at Aqualand industry between the year 2016 – 2017 and he is currently working at ABC Ltd, from the year 2020 till date. This leaves the university admission officers wondering about the 3 years after he graduated and the 2 years gap between working at Aqualand and ABC ltd. The CV does not accurately prove his professional background, therefore he is granted a conditional Offer, with the condition to provide an updated CV.  His offer letter is sent to the email address which was provided and our agency’s email address is copied in the mail. We reach out to him to inform him about his offer and tell him to check his mailbox for the offer letter but he did not receive the mail. We then realize that the email address provided on the CV was not accurate.  Ade immediately presents the updated CV and thankfully he will still be able to meet up with the intake.    THE END   DISADVANTAGES OF PROVIDING A CV THAT IS NOT UP-TO-DATE Providing a CV that is not up-to-date can lead to getting a conditional offer or even completely missing out on your opportunity to study abroad. We have had cases of clients whose contact details (both the email address and phone number) were wrong.  To avoid being a victim of such situations, you must provide a CV containing updated information about yourself for your admission process. You should know that your CV is one of your selling points to the University as to why you should be accepted.  Another lesson learnt from this scenario is the importance of doing an early application, keep in mind that you may not be as lucky as Ade.  Start your admission process early and provide all the necessary documents.  Do not forget to present an up-to-date- CV.  Reach out to us if you need more details on the importance of providing an up-to-date CV.  Negxy Concept Limited is a study abroad agency in Lagos with over 5000 successful admissions and visas under her belt. They do this by keeping citizens and the country safe and secure, they are responsible for ensuring economic prosperity in the UK.    COVID 19 UPDATES FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS The outbreak of the Covid 19 virus, in December 2019, caused the UK to put up strict travel rules to curb the spread of the deadly disease. Travel rules such as  Passengers Locator form  The pre-departure covid test,  Day 2 Covid test Day 8 Covid test,  10 days quarantine  Fortunately, Covid 19 vaccination was established and has been distributed and administered to citizens in their different counties. Following the release of the Covid 19 vaccination, the UK gradually eased the travel rules, whereby, vaccinated individuals were requested to only provide just the day 2 covid test.  However, the UK home office just released the latest news on a new covid rule, which is to take effect from the 11th of February, 2022.  This new rule states that fully vaccinated passengers arriving in England will no longer need to take any mandatory Covid – 19 tests. A picture that reads, The UK No Longer Trust Nigerian Proof of Funds

The UK No Longer Trust Nigerian Proof of Funds

THE UK NO LONGER TRUST NIGERIAN PROOF OF FUNDS      It is shocking for Nigerians that the UK no longer trust their proof of funds, this troubling news broke out on Friday, January 14th,2022, when the UK started questioning the validity of Nigerian proof of funds (bank statement).  These past days and even weeks truly have been a roller coaster for Nigeria.  The ending of the year, December 2021, had its own drama, this drama being the Omicron Virus (Coronavirus Variant) which led the UK to put up strict rules for Nigerian students and even ban Nigerians planning to travel to the UK with a visiting visa. This year, not up to a month ago, another commotion between Nigeria and the UK has arisen, this commotion affects strictly Nigerian students who have intentions to study in the UK.  As we all know, students are expected to show a bank statement (proof of funds) containing their tuition fees, alongside their cost of living before they are being granted CAS or a visa to successfully study in the UK.  The total balance in their bank account at the time this is being presented, convinces the university admission team and the immigration authorities that the student will be able to complete the tuition fee payment and also, can afford to comfortably live during their studies in the UK.  However, all of their efforts have proven fruitless as a lot of students find it difficult to pay up their tuition fees after enrolment into a UK university.  Succeeding this issue, on the 14th of January 2022, there was a new headline, stating that Nigerians may be obtaining loans so they can show UK immigration authorities that they have accurate funds in their account during their stay in the UK, loans which they later return after acquiring their student visa. This not only made headlines here in Nigeria, but it has also gotten to so many Universities in the UK and proves why most Nigerians are unable to make their tuition payments after getting to the UK, therefore, this has led to a lack of trust towards proof of funds provided by Nigerian students. To contain the issue, some UK universities have put up measures and conditions to guarantee the ownership of the funds presented by the students, measures such as additional documents.   WHAT ARE THESE ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTS THAT MUST BE PROVIDED TO BACK UP A NIGERIAN PROOF OF FUNDS? A few weeks ago, the issue of lack of trust by the UK towards Nigerians proof of funds escalated. Some students who got admitted to study during January intake in the UK were made to provide new requirements by the university admission team and the immigration authorities to back up the proof of funds that was presented.  Some of these new requirements are: A statement showing transitions from a previous period (different to the financial evidence provided and within the last six months)  The front only of a bank card or Cheque book showing the account holder’s name Signed and stamped letter from the bank (produced on a different date to the statement) outlining the duration for which the account has been held   DOES NEGXY CONCEPT LIMITED OFFER PROOF OF FUNDS SERVICES? No, Negxy Concept Limited does not offer proof of funds services for prospective UK students.  It is important for you to know that Nigerian Students are not the only ones being affected by this issue, study abroad agents are also affected.  There is certain news flying around stating that study abroad agents may be lending money to students for the sole purpose of deceiving the UK immigration authorities. This news has put Nigerian UK agents in a tight spot, as they are being scrutinized and monitored by the UK immigration authorities to prove the validity of the news.   WHAT TO DO IF YOU CAN NOT AFFORD TO STUDY IN THE UK Get a job and begin saving up until you can afford to pay for the tuition fees and cost of living while studying in the UK.  Seek assistance from your parents or spouse to sponsor your education in the UK. However, they must place the funds in your bank account.  Speak with our counsellors for more advice and information concerning how to successfully study in the UK.      Negxy Concept Limited is a study abroad agency in Lagos with over 5000 successful admissions and visas under her belt. However, putting in an application in January is still possible as some Universities still have their portal opened for these intakes.  Therefore, if you have intentions to study during the April / May 2022 intake, you should send in your documents as soon as possible, so that your application will be put in immediately.    REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS INTAKE  The requirements for all admission processes are the same, no matter the intake or the UK University that you are applying to  These documents are : Official Transcript  Degree Certificate  International Passport  CV/ Resume  Personal Statement Academic and Professional reference  Senior Secondary School Certificate ( WAEC / NECO, depending on the University)  In the absence of a Senior High Secondary School Certificate, an English Level Test should be presented   OPPORTUNITIES FOR THESE INTAKES Health-related courses, IT courses and Business courses are booming with great opportunities and they have become amongst the biggest trends for study abroad matters in the UK. 5 BIGGEST TRENDS FOR STUDY ABROAD MATTERS IN 2022     The biggest trends for study abroad matters in 2022 boils down to the major issues that prospective international students are experiencing in this year 2022, its causes and effects. The trends for study abroad matters in the year 2022 are    Covid Travel Restriction Technological Advancements  Interest in Health-Related Courses Nigerians Emigrating to Study Abroad  Nigerians relocating to Canada   Covid Travel Restrictions   The ending of the year 2021 came with an unexpected challenge, this unexpected occurrence was the Omicron variant of the Corona Virus, which made countries like the UK and Canada ban and put up strict travel rules for Nigerians. This change affected a good number of Nigerian students who had plans to study for the January 2022 intake. It also affected universities, as they had to make adjustments to suit the changes that were made by the government, like virtual classes for students who were yet to get their visas or begin their visa process, and also, deferring student’s offers until the next intake  etc Students who did their admission and visa process for January 2022 intake early, did not have to bother about this. Therefore, putting in admission and visa applications late in the year 2022 should be avoided so as not to end up in a situation whereby your offer is withdrawn or deferred due to unforeseen circumstances like Covid 19. Early admission and visa application should be done to ensure success in your travelling process and studies abroad this year 2022.    Technological Advancements One of the trends for study abroad matters is Technological Advancements. As the years go by, the world keeps evolving at a rapid pace, and as it evolves, there are also technological advancements. This is so because, to keep up with these changes (such as the Covid Outbreak and other issues) IT professionals have been left with no other choice than to unlearn, relearn and develop more in the technological field.  As a prospective student with the intention to keep up with this technological advancement and the biggest trends in the technological sector. This is so because, after the Covid 19 outbreak, the World Health Organization (WHO) realised the importance of strengthening the capacity of health systems.  When deciding on your career goals, you should consider a profession that is relevant in society, that will gain you good employment, that will ensure you gain professional and personal development and also, a high paying profession.  To achieve these goals as a student, you should look into health-related courses.  Such as; Nursing, Public Health, Global Health Care, Health Care Management,  Social Works etc.    Nigerians Emigrating to study abroad Nigerians relocating to study in Countries like Canada, the USA, and the UK has become one of the biggest trends in this year 2022. Yes, studying and living in these countries especially as an International student will be a great experience but most Nigerians relocate seeking better opportunities due to the poor state of the country.  Every year, thousands of Nigerians travel to study abroad as they experience numerous problems that are occurring in the country, problems like Insecurity, poor economy, corruption, low exchange rate, low standard of living, and the upcoming issue which is a phobia for elections, as major elections are on the way,  etc    Due to these problems, Nigerians have taken to studying abroad most especially in the year 2022, as a means to avoid election phobias, to have a better and safer standard of living, for greater opportunities and all the benefits that come with studying abroad in these countries.    Nigerians relocating to Canada  Since the year 2017, Nigerians have massively relocated to Canada, the reasons for this relocation is not far fetched. Let us take a look at the push and pull factors of migration, these are factors that push one out of his home country and pull him into a foreign land. The push factors for Nigerians in this year 2022 are Bad Governance  Insecurity Upcoming Elections etc  The Canadian government created attractive policies that pull foreigners into the country. These policies can be known as migration schemes, they are point-based programs that attract citizens into Canada, (Nigerian citizens that fall under any of the categories)   Some of the pull factors that attract Nigerians into Canada are Education Program  Canadian experience class program Federal skilled workers program Federal skilled trades program The education program is one of the major pull factors in Canada because of their scholarships. UK’s Omicron Coronavirus Update for Nigerians: Suspension of Visa Application

UK’S OMICRON CORONAVIRUS UPDATE FOR NIGERIANS; SUSPENSION OF VISA APPLICATION The UK and Canada have put up strict travel rules due to the Omicron Coronavirus variant, for some African countries like South Africa and Nigeria, to help protect their citizens against the deadly virus. CORONAVIRUS (COVID 19) Coronavirus disease is an infectious disease that causes respiratory illness and can eventually lead to death without proper treatment. Ever since the emergence of this deadly virus in December 2019, which led to a general lockdown for up to 4months, the virus has continued to spread and have produced new variants.  Several preventive measures have been put in place to curb the spread of this deadly virus, measures like Wearing face masks, Using alcohol-based hand sanitisers, Washing of hands frequently and properly, giving a distance of 2 meters between others etc. Not only were these preventive measures put in place to curb the virus, but vaccines were also produced to prevent the spread of this deadly virus. The different types of covid19 vaccines are Oxford/ AstraZeneca, Pfizer BioNTech, Moderna, Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen.  Aside from the vaccines and preventive measures that were adopted, countries also put up rules and regulations to protect their citizens from contracting the deadly virus, like the traffic light system rules.     OMICRON VIRUS (COVID 19 VARIANT )  Viruses repeatedly change through mutation and sometimes these mutations produce new variants of the virus. Some variants emerge and disappear while others persist.  Coronavirus 2019 (Covid 19) emerged in 2019 with the Alpha Variant and over time other variants have emerged. Variants like the Beta variant which was discovered on the 18th of December, 2020, the Gamma variant which was discovered on the 11th of January 2021, the Delta variant which was discovered within April and May, 2021. Now, a new variant has just been discovered and is known it be more deadly, as it can easily spread compared to other variants,  this variant is the Omicron variant which was discovered between the 24th – 26th of November, 2021.  Covid Vaccines have been known to protect against severe hospitalization and deaths of those that are infected with the coronavirus, therefore people are being advised to get vaccinated. Cases of the Omicron virus have been found in African countries like Nigeria, South African etc and not up to one-third of the Nigerian population have been vaccinated, this led to countries like the UK and Canada putting up strict rules that affect Nigeria as a whole.  Following the discovery of the Delta and Omicron virus, the world health organization (who) has concluded that individuals get administered a booster shot ( this is a third dose of the covid vaccine) this dose helps to improve the protection from the first 2 doses of the covid vaccine.   SUSPENSION OF UK VISITING VISA APPLICATION. The UK invented the travel light system rules to protect their citizens from this deadly virus by laying travel restrictions and rules. The travel light system rules consist of the green light list, the amber light list and the red light list.  Countries that are currently under the UK green and amber light list are allowed to travel to the UK under strict conditions. However, countries under the UK red light list, who are not citizens or residents of the UK are prohibited from entering the UK.  On Monday, the 6th of December, 2021, succeeding the discovery of the Omicron virus, Nigeria was moved from the UK green light list to the red light list. However, the red light list travel ban affects only individuals with the intent to travel to the UK on a visiting visa, as there has been a suspension of the UK visiting visa application in Nigeria. This means that all tourists and businessmen from Nigeria have been banned from entering the UK and UK visiting visa applications in Nigeria have been suspended. This new rule has left a lot of Nigerians panicking, especially those with the intention to travel to the UK for the holidays, however, the UK government will review the new rule by the 20th of December, 2021. This date has been put in place to monitor and observe the spread of the Omicron Virus, as the 20th of December will make it  3 weeks since the virus is discovered.  As some Nigerians are greatly affected by this sudden news, other Nigerians are lucky to escape the travel ban that has been placed on Nigeria even after being moved to the red list. These are individuals applying for a UK student visa and a work visa.  Nigerians with the intentions to travel to the UK to study or work will be allowed entry into the UK regardless of the UK red light rules, however, strict rules have been put in place for both vaccinated and unvaccinated Nigerians. These are rules:  Passenger Locator Form must be filled 48 hours before entry into the UK  A Covid Predeparture test must be done 72 hours before entry into the UK Individuals must do 10 days quarantine after entry into the UK  Covid test should be taken on the 2nd day after the entry into the UK Further covid testing will be taken on the 8th day after the entry into the UK   Due to the recent Covid 19 update and sudden change in rules by the UK government, we advise that all applicants for the UK student and work visa application, apply for their visas on time as there are uncertainties as to how long it will take for the student and work visas to be issued.    Speak with our counsellors today for detailed information on the UK Omicron Coronavirus update for Nigerians   Negxy Concept Limited is a study abroad agency in Lagos with over 5000 successful admissions and visas under her belt.
