Types of UK Student Admission Offer

TYPES OF UK STUDENT ADMISSION OFFER  Ever wondered about the types of UK admission offer given to prospective International students? Or, you recently put in an application for a university and you are awaiting an admission offer. Then it is important to know the types of admission offers that Universities in the UK and even in other countries, grant students.  The types of UK admission offer given to prospective international students is based on the documents presented and their qualifications. These admission offers are  Conditional Offer Unconditional Offer    CONDITIONAL OFFER  Conditional offers are admission offers granted to prospective International students who did not meet up the general or academic requirements.  When a client comes to our agency with the intention to put in an application to study in the UK, our counsellors always ensure to provide them with the necessary information and all the requirements needed for their university choice. However, students who do not meet up the requirements or intend to provide incomplete documents will be granted a conditional offer.    The documents and requirements to be provided for studies to the UK are:  International Passport: Must be valid at least 6 months after the course intake, anything less will be considered invalid and this will lead to getting a conditional offer. Degree Certificate: The degree certificate must be presented and not the statement of result. Students who present a statement of result will be granted a conditional offer.  Official transcripts: Some universities in the UK do not accept transcripts that have ‘students copy’ written on them. Such transcript is considered invalid, if such transcript is submitted, the student will be granted a conditional offer.  English level test proficiency (Senior School Certificate): UK Universities have different English language requirements. For the senior school certificate, it can be a C5 or a C6 and for International English Language Testing System (IELTS) it can be between 5.5 – 6.5.  Personal statement ( Statement of Purpose): A personal statement is a letter of intent, and it must contain the following  Education Background Employment History Why the Country Why the University Why the Course Future Prospects.  A personal statement that does not sound convincing enough and lacks the above points may result in being granted a conditional offer Academic Reference: It is important that students with the intention to study in the UK provide an academic reference, the absence of this will lead to a conditional offer.   Resume ( CV): An up-to-date CV must be provided, if the CV provided is not up to date or has years of gap, the student will be granted a conditional offer.  It is also important to know that Universities like Bedfordshire University, grant students a conditional offer regardless of the student providing all documents and having the qualifications. The condition is for the tuition deposit to be fully paid, after which they get granted an unconditional offer.    UNCONDITIONAL OFFER This is a type of admission offer that qualifies a student worthy to study in a UK university.  Students who have met all the general and academic requirements will be granted an unconditional offer.  At Negxy concept limited, we always advise our clients to provide all necessary documents and ensure that they have all the qualifications needed to get an unconditional offer. We make certain that they are halfway into realizing their study abroad dreams and aspirations.  After a student has been granted an unconditional offer, they are required to make their tuition deposit and provide a 28 days bank statement.  After this, they can go ahead to request for their CAS, prepare for their pre-cas interview (for schools that requires a pre-cas interview to be done)  and then await their CAS (Confirmation for Acceptance of Studies).    CAN A STUDENT ADMISSION OFFER BE WITHDRAWN? Yes, a UK university can withdraw an admission offer given to a student under the following situations.  The student fails to accept an offer that has been granted to them  When an unconditional offer is sent to a student through email, they are requested to either accept or decline the offer. If the student fails to accept the admission offer, it will be withdrawn before the start of the course, if such a situation occurs, nothing can be done to reverse it, except to apply for the next intake if desired. The requirements are not met after a conditional offer has been granted: When a student receives a conditional offer from their university of choice, they are expected to provide all the specific requirements and information as soon as possible. If they fail to provide these, their conditional offer will be withdrawn.  The student Pre-Cas Interview is not successful: Universities that require a Pre-Cas interview to be done before a CAS is issued can withdraw an unconditional offer if the student’s interview is not successful, in this case, the tuition deposit will be sent back to the student. The student can apply for another intake if they desire.    Speak with our counsellors today for detailed information on the types of UK Student Admission Offer that are granted to prospective UK students.  Negxy Concept Limited is a study abroad agency in Lagos with over 5000 successful admissions and visas under her belt. A picture that reads new rules by the UK government towards covid19 vaccination administered in Nigeria

New Rules by the UK Government towards Covid19 Vaccination Administered in Nigeria

NEW RULES BY THE UK GOVERNMENT TOWARDS COVID19 VACCINATION ADMINISTERED IN NIGERIA   Covid19 Update for International students such as the new rules by the UK government towards the covid19 vaccine administered in African in countries like Nigeria have left so many prospective study-abroad students, tourists and businessmen with the intentions of travelling to the UK excited. After the spread of the deadly coronavirus disease in December 2019, Covid vaccination was established to protect people against this deadly disease. Different types of covid vaccines were produced and distributed to different countries around the world. The different types of Covid Vaccines are: Oxford/AstraZeneca Pfizer BioNTech Moderna Janssen On the 17th of September, the United Kingdom made a travel rule regarding the Covid19 vaccination. This rule stated that individuals who were administered vaccines in countries, like India, Turkey, Jordan, Thailand, Russia, and continents like Africa and South America are considered “unvaccinated” Therefore must follow the unvaccinated rules that were put in place by the UK government before they can successfully settle in the UK. International students in Nigeria travelling to the UK were affected as they had to follow the unvaccinated rules before they could successfully travel for their studies in the UK. These rules are as follows They must provide their vaccination status on arrival in the UK A 72hours Covid 19 test should be done before entering the UK Self Isolation of 10 days after entering the UK Covid test must be taken on or before day 2 after entering the UK Further testing will be taken on day 8 after entering the UK   THE UK APPROVES OF COVID19 VACCINES ADMINISTERED IN NIGERIA On Monday, the 11th of October, 2021 the UK government released a new travel rule with respect to the Covid19 vaccination. This new rule states that the vaccination administered in most African countries has been approved by the UK government. Fortunately, Nigeria is among these countries, meaning that vaccination administered in Nigeria has been approved by the UK government. Therefore, International students in Nigeria travelling to the UK on or after the 11th of October, 2021  do not have to follow the unvaccinated rules but rather the vaccinated rules. The Vaccinated rules are as follows: Covid Vaccination status must be provided e.g  A Covid19 vaccine certificate. A 72hours Covid 19 test before entering the UK is not required Getting a day 2 Covid 19 test is required. 10 days self Isolation after entering the UK is not needed Getting a day 8 Covid 19 test is not required. Therefore international students who are fully vaccinated and have plans to study in a University in the UK can follow the vaccinated rule by simply providing proof of their vaccination status, whereas unvaccinated international students must follow the unvaccinated rule. For a swift travel process to the UK for studies, international students are advised to get vaccinated. Click on the youtube video below to watch our live session on Covid19 Travel Protocols for Nigerian students going to study in the UK. However, please note that the 72hours Covid 19 test before entering the UK is not required for fully vaccinated international students as contrary to what was mentioned on the live session. Speak with our counsellors today for detailed information on the Covid19 rules that has been implemented for Nigerians by the UK government. A photo that says, Financial Requirements for a UK Student Visa

Financial Requirements for a UK Student Visa

FINANCIAL REQUIREMENTS FOR A UK STUDENT VISA To get a Visa to study for a program in the UK, certain requirements such as financial requirements are needed for a UK Student Visa. These requirements are not only educational documents like transcripts or degree certificates, identification documents like International passports, but also financial documents like bank Statements which is known as Proof of funds must be provided.    PROPER PLANNING TOWARDS GETTING A UK STUDENT VISA  It is no surprise that the UK is a magnet for international students as they have world-recognised universities and their degrees are known to be of a good standard. Also, tuition fees for universities in the UK are quite affordable therefore international students with the intention to study abroad in the UK must ensure that they make proper planning towards making their studies possible, so as not to lose out on a great opportunity.   Here at Negxy Concept Limited, we have counsellors that are assigned to put students (Clients) through all the processes on what to do after getting admission in the UK and generally what is involved in schooling abroad in the UK. Without this counselling, prospective study abroad students may lack proper planning on how to go about their admission process, what documents to be provided and the financial requirements needed.  Our Counsellors make students understand that aside from providing academic and identity documents, International students must ensure that they provide the financial requirement needed to get an admission and a UK Student Visa. They must ensure that they follow all the right procedures and make proper planning like : Arranging their Finances Read and Know more about the University Providing all necessary documents etc.    FINANCIAL REQUIREMENTS NEEDED FOR A SUCCESSFUL ADMISSION AND VISA PROCESSING. A student who is coming to the UK to study must be able to prove that they have enough money to support themselves through their studies in the UK,  therefore, before they can be granted admission or a UK Student Visa they must meet all the Financial requirements. Finances are among the necessary requirements needed to survive in the UK especially for an International student. The Financial requirements are:  Tuition Deposit: International students undertaking a full-time master’s degree are required to pay a tuition fee deposit after an offer has been granted and before an electronic Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) can be issued. A CAS is an important electronic document issued to students before they can apply for their student visa. A Confirmation for Acceptance of Studies (CAS) can only be granted to a student if they meet all the conditions that are stated, like payment of tuition deposit and providing all necessary documents.  Tuition Fee: UK Universities have an annual tuition fee, which covers the cost of the tuition, examination and graduation etc. After a student has been issued CAS, the student should see the cost of their tuition fee written on the CAS document that was sent to them. These fees are payable at the start of the programme, however, different universities in the Uk have different payment methods that students should follow.  Payment of tuition fees will ensure that the course of study is successfully completed. Bank Statement: Providing a bank statement document is essential during a study abroad process, This is important because students need to display sufficient financial capacity to the University for the duration of their studies in the UK, they must show the financial capacity to cover their: Tuition fee (For one academic year) Cost of living It has been confirmed that most universities in the UK demand to see a bank statement before granting admission to a student, as this serves as proof of funds. The duration of the bank statement that should be provided from the student’s bank account should be for 28days.   Cost of living: A student should have enough money for their living expenses while they study in the UK, such as their feeding expenses, transportation, hostel fee, these are known as the Cost of Living. The amount of money for the cost of living in the UK depends on the location of the University where a student intends to study. The cost of living for universities located inside of London is different from universities located outside of London. The cost of living inside the UK is 12,006  while universities outside the UK are 9,207.  Tuberculosis test fee: A Tuberculosis test must be presented during the UK Student Visa process, therefore international students should ensure that they have the Tuberculosis fee available before proceeding to apply for Visa.  IHS Fee: An Immigration Health Surcharge fee must be paid before a visa can be granted.   Visa Fee: International students must pay their visa fee before they can be called for a visa interview and before a UK student visa can be issued.    Speak with our counsellors today for detailed information on the financial requirements for a UK Student Visa and get the cost of all the required fees to be paid.   Negxy Concept Limited is a study abroad agency in Lagos with over 5000 successful admissions and visas under her belt. A picture that reads How to Avoid Student Visa Denial? by a study abroad agency known as Negxy Concept to ensure a successful visa process

How to Avoid UK Student Visa Denial?

HOW TO AVOID UK STUDENT VISA DENIAL? Any prospective student seeking to study in another country must obtain a student visa from that country. For prospective UK students to have a successful visa process and avoid UK student visa denial, they must follow the rules and regulations laid down by the UK government. Disobeying these rules and processes, alongside not providing necessary documents can lead to a visa denial.   REASONS FOR A UK STUDENT VISA DENIAL  Failure to meet the UK student visa rules can result in unsuccessful visa processing and visa denial, which is quite discouraging especially when a student has high expectations after gaining admission from their desired school. To avoid a UK student visa denial and ensure a successful visa process, a student needs to know the reasons behind why one can be denied a UK student visa. Below are reasons for a UK student visa denial that prospective students should be aware of before beginning their visa process, to have a successful visa process. Incomplete Documents:  Some students present incomplete documents during their visa processing, this can lead to visa denial as complete documentation during visa processing is one of the rules while applying for a visa. Documents such as CV, Valid passport, Birth Certificate, Admission Letter,  Passport photographs, 0-level certificate, BSc Transcripts & Certificate, Bank Statement, Visa Form, Payment of Visa and IHS fees and all required documents must be presented during visa processing. Insufficient Funds: Presenting a bank statement during a visa processing is not all that matters, one needs to ensure that the cost of living and school fees is present in the bank account that is presented. If these fees are not present in the bank account, the student will be seen to have insufficient funds and this can lead to a visa denial.  Therefore the bank statement should show proof of funds, that can take care of him or herself and pay their tuition fee while studying in the UK. Gap years: If a student has not done anything productive or cannot show that he/she has done something fruitful either after their bachelor’s degree or years after ending a certain career, then they may have a high chance of getting a visa denial. Gap years should be justified and backed up to avoid UK student visa denial Lack of proper interview skills: Prospective study abroad students need to be fully prepared before going for a visa interview. At Negxy Concept Limited we have prepared some mock questions (Possible questions asked during a visa interview) for our students, to help them know what to say, how to act and interact with the interviewer, to fully prepare them for their visa interview.  Without these preparations, a student may lack the interview skills that are required and this can lead to a student visa denial. English Language proficiency:  Since the UK is an English-speaking country, students are required to provide either a pass in their senior secondary school English result or an English Level Test. Providing these is the only way to assess a students English Level skills and ensure that they have a high level of English Language proficiency to avoid the risk of getting a student visa denial.   HOW TO AVOID UK STUDENT VISA DENIAL Provide all Documents: During a visa process, while a student is submitting all the required documents, they should ensure that they submit the original documents, instead of copies/photocopies or printouts. Possess good Interview Skills: During a visa interview, students must be as natural as they can, answer all questions in English and ensure that they provide accurate pieces of information, to ensure that they have a successful visa process. Provide Proof of Funds: At Negxy Concept Limited we always advise our students to make use of a commercial bank account for their proof of funds and ensure that their bank statement is presented in the correct format. Also, moving heavy funds from the bank account would lead to a reduction in the amount required as proof of funds, therefore it should be avoided. Present an appropriate Bank Statement: Avoid the risk of getting a student visa denial by providing a bank statement of  28 continuous days and not submitting a bank statement that is more than 31 days old Availability: Not responding to email or telephone queries from the visa office can lead to a visa denial. During the visa process until after the student visa is granted, students are advised to be available and stay in touch at all times.   WHAT TO DO AFTER A VISA DENIAL  If a student receives a UK visa denial and they are still interested in going to study their desired course in the university of their choice, they should be aware that their admission still holds and therefore they can defer the admission until the next university intake. There are several opportunities for one to professionally build his/her career and this can be done while travelling with family members such as parents, spouses or children using a student dependant visa. As a parent, your children look up to you, so you should teach them to be ambitious, hardworking and focused and help them build a better life and aspire for a brilliant career. This can be done with a dependant visa.   WHAT IS A DEPENDANT VISA? A dependent visa is a kind of visa that allows prospective study abroad students to travel with their spouse or their children to the country of their choice and study at the university they desire. By doing this, you will not only be on your way to building a successful career but you will also be helping your children or spouse lead a better life. During the process of getting a dependant visa, a prospective student is known to be the primary applicant and the family members are known as the dependants. With a dependant visa, the dependants can:  Stay with the primary applicant/family. Travel and explore Study (in some cases) Work (in some cases) The different types of dependent visas are: Temporary visa Permanent visa A Temporary dependant visa enables the spouse of the primary applicant to work (with limited capacity), it also enables the children of the primary applicant to study, as long as they are below 17years. A permanent dependent visa enables the dependants of the primary applicant to become permanent residents. This can only be possible if the dependants have lived in the country for more than 5 years.   THE REQUIREMENTS Valid passport Proof that your relationship is genuine. (Marriage Certificate, Birth Certificate, Photo Album etc) Original birth certificate Evidence of meeting the financial requirement (Proof of funds) for each dependant Properly filled visa application form. Proof of Visa fee etc   CONDITIONS NEEDED TO GET A DEPENDANT VISA FOR COUNTRIES LIKE  CANADA, IRELAND, THE USA AND THE UK A Student who intend to study in the US or who is already studying in the US can bring their families to live with them as they study. Like a Marriage certificate, Wedding invitations and cards, Birth certificate, photos or Weddig album. To get a Canadian dependant visa, the family members are required to take an English Level Test and provide other important documents like documents containing proof of relationship with the primary applicant before a dependant visa can be granted. Fortunately, dependants are permitted to work in Canada with a Canadian dependant visa. A student with plans to study in Ireland should be aware that they are not allowed to travel with their family members while studying in Ireland, as their families are expected to make their own Visa applications. However, prospective study abroad students are permitted to travel with their families if they intend to study a PhD program in Ireland. Covid 19 Update for International Students in the UK

COVID 19 UPDATE FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS IN THE UK   COVID 19 VACCINATION IN THE UK The recent Covid 19 update in UK universities, which is the opening of Covid 19 vaccination centres on campuses, makes certain that international students are well protected as they begin their studies in the UK.  In the year 2019, a deadly virus emerged, this virus killed many and caused a general lockdown. Public places, schools, organizations in the UK and around the world were put on lockdown as a way to curb the spread of this deadly virus. Citizens were advised to sit at home and no movement was permitted.  Its been over a year since the virus emerged and organizations, public places and schools have gradually begun to open, especially since the Covid 19 vaccine was established. In addition to the preventive measures of staying at least 1 metre away from others, covering a cough or sneeze in your elbow, frequently cleaning your hands, wearing a mask and avoiding poorly ventilated rooms or opening a window, Covid 19 vaccines were established to prevent people from getting seriously ill and dying from this deadly virus.  A new semester is approaching for universities in the UK, which is the September intake, and the UK government has ensured that universities implement Covid 19 safety measures and are looking to vaccinate students despite the impact of Corona Virus in the UK, to help the universities properly function after over a year of disruption and are hoping to keep online-only courses to a minimum.  Although it’s a personal choice, International students are strongly encouraged to take up the opportunity to get vaccinated against COVID 19, to protect themselves and those around them, both within the university environment and while with their family and friends and also, keep up with Covid 19 update to stay safe.     OPENING OF VACCINATION CENTRES ON CAMPUSES IN UK UNIVERSITIES As restrictions gradually ease and schools begin to open, universities in the UK find it imperative for vaccination to be made easy and convenient for students as the more students are vaccinated, the more transmission can be reduced.  Universities in the UK have begun setting up their own Covid 19 vaccination centres and facilities including pop-up clinics and NHS vaccine buses, in an attempt to make campuses as safe as possible for the autumn term (September Intake). Universities like The University of the West of England (UWE) in Bristol and Kingston University in south London have already opened campus vaccination centres, the University of Stirling in Scotland opened a centre to students on Saturday the 14th of August, other universities, including Cardiff, Manchester, Birmingham and Portsmouth have confirmed they are in discussions about setting up vaccination services.  These centres will be run and staffed by the NHS, however, universities are offering to train students to volunteer in them.    The NHS stands for the National Health Service. It refers to Government-funded medical and health care services. Universities in the UK are willing to work with NHS to train students as volunteers.    Contact our counsellors to get more information about the opening of vaccine centres in universities in the UK    Negxy Concept Limited is a study abroad agency in Lagos with over 5000 successful admissions and visas under her belt. How to Prepare for a Pre-Cas Interview

HOW TO PREPARE FOR A PRE-CAS INTERVIEW After a student has been granted an offer to study in a university in the UK, they are required to request a CAS (Confirmation for Acceptance of Studies) to complete their admission. After a student sends in a request for CAS, a date is given for an interview, this is known as the Pre-Cas interview. Students are expected to prepare properly for the Pre-Cas interview in order to have a successful admission. If the student’s Pre-Cas interview is successful, a CAS form or a CAS draft is sent in by the university, to be filled. After which the student will be granted a Confirmation for Acceptance of Studies (CAS).   WHAT IS A PRE-CAS INTERVIEW In some universities in the UK, an interview must be done before a CAS can be given but the Pre-Cas interview does not apply to all universities in the UK. Other universities in the UK issue a CAS after a request has been sent in by the student and the CAS form has been filled.  A Pre-Cas interview is an interview carried out before a CAS is issued. The purpose of the Pre-Cas interview is to ascertain that the student’s intention to study in a university in the UK is genuine, as such, universities get to know a student’s true intentions through the Pre-Cas interview. The interview is held electronically and will take approximately 30 minutes, also, feedback regarding the interview will be provided within 2 to 3 working days. Students should be aware that a Pre-Cas interview can make or break their chances of getting an admission into the university of their choice, therefore, students should ensure that they impress the interviewers and have a successful interview.    POSSIBLE QUESTIONS ASKED DURING A PRE-CAS INTERVIEW To have a successful interview, prospective study abroad students should prepare with the following questions. How long is your course and why did you choose that course? Why did you choose that university rather than another University? Why do you choose to study in the UK? How do you explain the gaps in your education/employment history – what were you doing during this time? How do your studies fit into your future career plans? What is your current occupation? Do you intend to work in    TIPS ON HOW TO HAVE A SUCCESSFUL INTERVIEW Give precise and detailed answers to explain yourself accurately. Demonstrate you have done sufficient research by avoiding using nonspecific (generic) answers. The answers must be supported with facts and figures.  Be as natural as you can.  Try to answer all questions honestly and clearly.  If there are any technical issues please report them before leaving the interview.  Ensure all answers are in English.  If you do not understand a question please do ask the interviewer to repeat it.    IMPORTANCE OF A GOOD INTERVIEW A successful Pre-Cas Interview means a successful admission. If a Pre-Cas interview is not successful, a student can be denied CAS regardless that they have paid the stipulated deposit and would be unable to go further and process their UK Student Visa. If the stipulated deposit has been paid and the student’s interview is unsuccessful, the university will refund the deposit and withdraw the offer.    Contact our counsellors today! for detailed information on how to prepare and have a successful Pre-Cas interview   Negxy Concept Limited is a study abroad agency in Lagos with over 5000 successful admissions and visas under her belt.
